![]() I have it with a cab housing a wgs Reaper. ![]() head with a custom fenderish 6v6 board and an aftermarket power transformer making it about 9 watts. My main amp is an old Hot Rod Deluxe with a wgs veteran 30 and I love it, but I roll the bass, treble and presence down to like 9 o'clock with the midrange at about 1 o' clock, depending on which guitar I'm using. The retro 10 doesn't sound like what I want, but maybe if I roll the treble down it might be perfect? I'm going to give the VX10 a fair chance since this is my backup amp. New limited edition model: AC10 Custom in radiant Royal Blue The AC10 was one of the first guitar amps ever to bear the VOX name and has been valued for decades for its exceptionally overtone-rich, defined tube sound with at the same time hearing-friendly volume levels. ![]() I was interested in the Green Beret until reading Kevin Stuart's comment. The AC10 has the top boost already factored into the overall sound. Also, there is a single input, rather than the normal and top boost inputs on the AC15. I have a Jensen Neo lying around that I'm going to try simply because it's there. The AC10 has less knobs - gain, bass, treble, reverb, volume - and there is no standby switch. I’ve put a couple of demo videos below for the standard coloured editions, so you can hear them both in action.I have an AC10 on the way and I'm looking to swap the speaker too. The standard colour Vox AC15 * and AC10 * are both available on Thoman, they always seem to prove popular with players and get great user reviews. This expressive amp lets you also dial in clean chime all the way to. Create atmosphere with the impressive digital reverb. Vox AC10 Custom Guitar Combo Amplifier (10 Watts, 1x10') Forget about noise complaints - crank this 10-watt amp for saturated overdrive at a reasonable volume. 33 reviews Write your review Item ID: AC15C1X. 15-watt 2-channel All-tube 1x12' Guitar Combo Amplifier with Tremolo, Reverb, and Alnico Blue Speaker. Vox always does well with these limited runs, and if you missed it you may want to check out the recent Union Jack Pathfinder 10 combo announced last month. AC15C1X 1x12' 15-watt Tube Combo Amp with Alnico Blue Speaker. My personal recommendation is to save for an ac30. If you can blast your noise and need an amp for live/band settings Go bigger, don’t limit yourself to the ac10, 12 speakers make a huge difference in terms of sound and headroom. I’m expecting to see them for sale once NAMM 2022 is out of the way. Anyways, my point is, if you want a Vox sound I’d seriously consider what your environment will allow for. With controls for volume, gain, bass, treble and the built-in reverb. It also has an external speaker output, so you can put it through a larger cabinet if needed.īoth these limited edition Rich Blue combo models should be due out in June. This time you have a pair of 12AX7 dual-triode vacuum preamp tubes, plus a pair of EL84 pentode power tubes, along with a smaller 10″ Celestion VX10 custom speaker. Ive always used JJs (ECC8 0 3s, EL84) since 2008, for their vintage tone and reliability. When I had my AC4c1-BL, I modified the amp slightly so that it could accommodate a 10' Celestion Gold alnico. Smaller, yet still very versatile is the AC10 and this model has lower power output, as the name suggests. The original, classic VOX sound is the amp paired with a 12' Celestion Blue alnico speaker.
